In honour of Seniors Month, residents at Chartwell Heritage enjoyed an afternoon of picking fresh strawberries at a local farm, and later celebrated with a delicious strawberry festival. Approximately 50 residents were in attendance on the patio, which was beautifully decorated with strawberry cutouts and red balloons. A table was created where residents helped to cut the leaves off the fresh strawberries, which were later used in the kitchen for jams and desserts. The Food Services Manager prepared special snacks for everyone to enjoy, including strawberry salsa with cinnamon-sugar tortilla chips, chocolate-dipped strawberries, strawberry bread and warm wraps filled with strawberries, chocolate, feta cheese and spinach. It was a truly delicious feast!
